The country can offer honey in different colors, from extra white to amber; and from a large variety of nectar sources:
Monofloral Honeys: Alfalfa, orange blossom, caatay, thistle, eucalyptus, stone and pome fruits, clover, lemon blossom.
Polyfloral Honeys: Meadows honey, honey from the islands, honey from the native forest, honey from the Andean Valleys, honey from Patagonia.
Argentina is the most important and developed origin in the entire Southern Hemisphere, with more than 17,000 registered beekeepers according to the National Registry of Beekeeping Producers (RENAPA) and more than 3.7 million hives. The sector has more than 1,300 honey extraction rooms enabled by the National Service of Food Health and Quality (SENASA) where between 75,000 and 80,000 tons of honey are extracted every year.
