Olives

Origin: Argentina

Argentine olive growing has more than 470 years of history. Production is located in the eastern valleys of the Andes Mountains, in that region where the climate is dry, the intensity of light is high and the thermal differences are very wide.

Argentina has to offer:

Table olives: Arauco, empeltre, manzanilla, black or green, with or without pits.

Olive Oil: Arauca, arbequina, manzanilla, picual, co-ratina, Barnes, changlot real; Virgin or Extra Virgin and blends.

The olives are voluminous, of good shape and with a balanced texture in their pulp-stone ratio. The usual varieties, Arauco and Manzanilla, have delicate, firm and subtle pulps. Its international recognition is reflected in the fact that Argentina is the seventh world producer and the fifth exporter of table olives.

Currently, Argentina is also the main producer and exporter of Olive Oil in South America. Production is up to 40,000 tons and of them 37,200 tons are exported, which go mainly to the United States, Spain and Brazil.
